What is 26 Weeks of Giving?
In the year leading up to the 2026 USA Games, SOMN will provide grants of various sizes to like-minded organizations committed to advancing inclusion and accessibility. In addition to the monetary grant, Special Olympics Minnesota will help highlight and amplify the contributions of these organization with media opportunities and storytelling.
Who can apply?
This campaign is open to anyone who shares our vision of inclusion and accessibility. Nonprofits, community organizations, initiatives, groups or individuals who are focused on fostering inclusion, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for all Minnesotans are encouraged to apply!
The application process
You will go through a straightforward application and selection process by providing details about your organization, its mission and how you’re making a difference in your community. Applications will be reviewed by a diverse committee made up of SOMN staff board members, athletes, and other Minnesota leaders. Recipients will be selected based on their alignment with the campaign’s goals and the potential impact of their work.
Applications must be submitted by August 31.
How are these grants being funded?
These grants are funded by a very generous donor, who is passionate about Special Olympics Minnesota and other organizations that are working to create more inclusive communities in Minnesota.
